2013 Lowman Award Winner

Tom Suarez

Each year, the La Contenta Men’s Club gives out an award to there “Player of the Year” called the “Lowman Award”.  The Lowman Award is named after Wallace “Lucky” Lowman, who has been a stable figure in the Valley Springs community since the early 70’s.

Tom Suarez is the recipient of the 2013 Lowman Award, displaying the same traits, honor, integrity and honesty, which the Lowman Award is based on. Lucky Lowman has been part of his family’s life for over 20 years. Tom’s daughter, Allison credits Lucky for helping her to consistently out-drive her dad. Lucky was also there for Tom’s wife, Bev and her friends as they learned to play golf. Lucky has always helped Tom when his swing needs a tune-up.

Tom has been married to his lovely wife for 32 years.  Allison is currently in grad school in Maryland. They moved to La Contenta in 1992. Tom has been a member of the men’s club since 2007. He enjoys the competition in the tournaments, but more importantly, the friends that he has made in the club.  Tom has been active with the Calaveras Mentoring Foundation for the past three years. The mentoring program connects local youth with safe positive mentors who offer friendship, opportunity, and support for making healthy life decisions.

The La Contenta Men’s Club Board is proud to have Tom Suarez as its 2013 recipient.
